used car salesman

my new profession: used car salesman.

you see, I have to sell goldie locks, my beloved gold pontiac that was my 16th birthday present.
As you know, D and I are moving to hawaii, and the navy will only ship one car for us. because his car is much newer (and much nicer albeit it is a stick shift which i do not appreciate).

my take on stick shift: too many petals down there makes things messy. stick shifts make the whole driving experience very stressful!
thus, my precious golide is now up for sale on craigslist.
i'm honestly a little bit embarassed how attached i've become to this car :( but in my defense it was my first car & it has been a great car to me (no major problems, accidents, etc.).

for those of you that have sold your cars before, and useful advice on how to actually get it sold? I only have 2 weeks before I need her gone and craigslist is the only place I know to list her.

  1. Aw I know how you feel I was SO sad when I traded me first car in. I almost cried when they drove it away. You could list it on ebay, or put it in the newspaper classifieds. Good luck!

  2. Aww!! So sorry you have to sell your car! :( I personally have never sold a car before, but we just sold my sister's. Our business is on a busy corner downtown and we stuck it in the parking lot with a sign on it. It only took about 3 days to sell!! Maybe you could ask a business on a busy corner to use a parking space for a week or so and see if it sells! Good luck! :)

  3. Never done this so I have no useful ideas for you, but good luck with the sale! Hope it goes smoothly!

  4. oh, i know the feeling!!! when i had to sell malibu barbie i left a note about her in the glove compartment telling the next owner about her life with me! it's def. an emotional attachment to a car! good luck in hawaii!!!

  5. i can't believe it's only two weeks!! if you layover in SD and don't meet me for drinks/lunch/dinner/whatever i will be so bummed!! also this means dan's probably getting out here soon too, huh... haha
