I'm alive!

what a CRAZY past few weeks.

Dan's mother arrived in Annapolis on Sunday, and we were super busy all week with graduation parties, Baltimore trips & pink eye. Yes, I had pink eye this week. never before in my life and the only week I REALLY don't want the stink eye I get it! gross!

the movers came on Thursday and packed up my entire apartment. all I will say for now about that experience is that I know a few tips/tricks for next time. like not packing dan's uniforms.
D graduated & was commissioned on friday- a lovely ceremony (I must say I really enjoyed Joe Biden's speech- who would have thought? he was humorous and the content wasn't all propaganda). I am so proud of him it hasn't really sunk in yet. His mother and I changed his shoulder boards after graduation and his father commissioned him- don't you worry ya'll know I went picture crazy so I will post those once we get our computer up and running.

we just arrived in dallas yesterday afternoon and now we begin the mad dash to the wedding (currently 5 days away). we went to IKEA (aka the promised land) last night to buy tea lights for the wedding and ended up going a litttttle overboard for things for the house. I mean Hawaii doesn't have an IKEA so it was ok, right? (there I go again justifying extreme spending...something I do well!)

I will try and update frequently, I am using Dan's parents computer as my laptop died right before we left. once we move to Hawaii I'm sure I'll be driving ya'll nuts with my postings (um hello unemployment!).

oh yes- and if you're a twitterholic like this girl here- add my because I update 24096 times a day. and chances are I wanna stalk you too!

hope all is well with everyone...now I have to jump over to Expat Girl's blog and see if she had that beautiful baby!

cutest bridal shower/wedding gift

D and I have a total of 3 weddings to attend/purchase gifts for this summer- while for two of the couples I took the easy route and purchased gifts off their registries, I have a better gift for his cousin and her fiance...

and they come in a little blue box!

champagne flutes from tiffany & co.!

these are so nice and a gift the couple will keep forever.
katie and my other great friend brittany gave me these for my bridal shower and I thought it was just the best gift!

even better- they're not as expensive as you might think!

used car salesman

my new profession: used car salesman.

you see, I have to sell goldie locks, my beloved gold pontiac that was my 16th birthday present.
As you know, D and I are moving to hawaii, and the navy will only ship one car for us. because his car is much newer (and much nicer albeit it is a stick shift which i do not appreciate).

my take on stick shift: too many petals down there makes things messy. stick shifts make the whole driving experience very stressful!
thus, my precious golide is now up for sale on craigslist.
i'm honestly a little bit embarassed how attached i've become to this car :( but in my defense it was my first car & it has been a great car to me (no major problems, accidents, etc.).

for those of you that have sold your cars before, and useful advice on how to actually get it sold? I only have 2 weeks before I need her gone and craigslist is the only place I know to list her.

Josie Maran Argan Oil.. RUN don't walk to Sephora...

Josie Maran Argan Oil.

I picked this Argan Oil up at Sephora last week and I am so in love with it.

I used it on my hair (I like this better than Moroccan Oil, which I just ran out of) to keep the frizz away and it leaves my hair feeling really soft and shiny. After I put it in my hair, I take the extra on my hands and use as a moisturizer. I’m surprised at how non-oily is it after you apply it, it leaves my skin really soft (like using baby oil, without the oiliness).

I also use it as a night treatment on my face instead of my regular moisturizer. This stuff works miracles, my skin hasn’t been so soft in ages. Also, it doesn’t clog pores/irritate my skin.

From the Sephora website:

Argan Oil
What it is:
A lightweight oil that can be used as a daily moisturizer and skin treatment.

What it does:
Josie Maran Argan Oil is a legendary oil that's rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and grown organically in Morocco. Argan oil is known to have many treatment benefits, including hydrating and nourishing skin, as well as toning and firming. It's gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions including acne.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrance
- Synthetic Dye
- Petro-Chemicals
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
The oil is housed in a recyclable glass bottle, and purchased from women's cooperatives in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare. These cooperatives work within a UNESCO biosphere reserve that ensures the protection and reforestation of Argan trees.

wknd recap & stori telling

happy monday ya'll!

great news- my new camera arrived last week :) I'm not sure what was wrong with my other one, but after my bachelorette party it sadly wouldn't turn on anymore. I was semi freaking out because of all of the events coming up (D's graduation, umm my wedding, moving to hawaii etc.)
so I bit the (rather expensive) bullet and bought a new one. I'm proud to say its really nice and I won't be taking this baby to the bars (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has poured beer in her purse killing her camera...right?).

Here are a few random pictures from the weekend:
one of my favorite streets in Annapolis- I love this town so much and I'm going to miss it incredibly when we move.

a few glasses of wine deep I look similar to a giggly school girl. love that man.

I am seriously obsessed with Tori Spellings book 'Stori Telling.' I haven't been able to put it down all weekend and only have 50 or so pages left which makes me really sad! I reluctantly picked it up at the book store and I happy am really happy I gave it a chance. She reminds me a lot of myself- very non confrontational which always come back to bite us in the ass. Its a fun, easy read and I'll definitely be buying her other book.

I'm sure you've all read about this story.
Just breaks my heart. What a beautiful young woman about to reach the peak of her life. Sad sad. Keep the families in your prayers.

top 2 tuesday...

top two SPLURGES...
{courtesy of taylor}

1. I guess this isn't really a splurge (in terems of monetary amount) but FOOD.

I like eating organic food, fresh fruits, veggies, and supplements that can sometimes be pricier than if I had just bought the regular/frozen stuff. But the way I look at it- its my BODY. I know I could save money if I were to buy processed food or eat fast food for the majority of my meals (I have a few friends that use this route) but it honestly grosses me out. I don't mind dropping a lot of money at the grocery store because I think it will pay off in the long run.

2. Make Up, Skincare & Hair Care. I mean really- it goes on my FACE. I don't mind shelling out $45 for facial cleanser if I love the product. I feel best when I look my best- and if that costs a little bit more than the products in the bargain bin I'm okay with that.

Happy Tuesday ya'll! Only a MONTH left until our wedding I can hardly believe it! 6/4/10 is going to be here before I know it.

wait what? its may?

If you haven't started watching HBO's The Pacific you need to! Last night was part 8 (out of the 13 part mini-series) and it was incredible, I bawled my eyes out. You've only got to be a semi-history nerd to love this series I promise!

In other news. Are we serious- its MAY?!

Our wedding countdown is down to 32 days. I can hardly believe it, our 15 month engagement is coming to an end!

7 working days left at my job :)

Happy Monday!
