baked eggs in a bread bowl!

I’m ready to get married because I am SO TIRED of being HUNRGY. My dress is form fitting, so with every piece of chocolate/bread/tasty goodness that goes into my mouth so does the guilt and sheer horror of a bulging belly on my wedding day. Just being honest.

But. For those of ya’ll that aren’t on the deprivation diet, my friend John shared with me this recipe which he said was just to DIE FOR. Find the original post & pictures here.

Baked Eggs in Bread Bowl

Crusty dinner rolls, as many as you choose
Eggs, large, one for each roll
Mixed herbs, chopped, such as, parsley, chives and tarragon, about a teaspoon for each roll
Heavy cream, 1 teaspoon for each roll
Salt and pepper
Parmesan cheese, grated, as much as you want to sprinkle on each roll

Slice off top of each dinner roll and gently remove some bread until there is a hole large enough to accommodate an egg. Arrange rolls on a baking sheet. Reserve tops. Crack an egg into each roll. Top each egg with some herbs and a bit of cream. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake in a 350 degree oven until eggs are set and bread is toasted 20 to 25 minutes. After eggs have cooked for 20 minutes, place bread tops on baking sheet and bake until golden brown. Let sit 5 minutes.

Place tops on rolls and serve warm.

It’s like I’m drooling.

Happy Thursday/Weekend to me!

stress ball & top two

Welp… ladies I only have 9 working days left! I am leaving my job in mid/late May but with all of my days of leave, etc. I’m down to 9 :)

Dan and I have a SUPER busy few weeks coming up. Like crazy busy.

His graduation week is the last week of May- for which his family is flying out and should be a lot of fun. We leave the day after he graduates for Dallas, and then a week later we get MARRIED! Oh yeah, and did I mention somewhere in there the movers need to come and pack up my apartment? After we get married, we head up to Wyoming for my cousins wedding- then onto Chicago for a week- then to Indianapolis for a wedding. Right after we leave Indy we head back to Dallas for a few days and THEN FINALLY we fly out to Hawaii.

I’m going to be a ball of stress for the next month and a half. For reals.

And…just because I missed this yesterday:

Top Two Summer Favorites:

-Patio drinking. Annapolis has some of the best restaurant patios and I can’t wait to sip cocktails in the sun!

-The feeling you get after coming in from sunbathing. Can’t explain it but it’s warm and your skin is perfectly sun kissed.

nyc weekend

I apoligize for the lapse in posting!
I've had a few wedding emergencies- I'll post later this week but I had to find a brand new dress (umm 40 days before my wedding- STRESSFUL) because a shady etsy seller fell through (I'll have a review on her to follow you can guarantee it).

Good news is I have a dress I LOVE now and couldn't be happier. God works in amazing ways- this dress/veil is exactly what I had envisioned when I first started looking for dresses. Bad news- I've been a bad blogger!

Katie and I just spent the weekend in NYC. I had never been there before so I made sure we did all of the super touristy things. Had the BEST time and I am so happy I can now say I've been to the big apple!

Busy work day, but I promise I'm back on the ball with the blog!

top 2 tuesday

Items under $15...

1. Rose Bud Salve. Just a great lip balm/gloss (guess thats why they all is a salve huh?) to have in my purse. Great for chapped/dry lips and dry hands. The smell is delicious!

2. Emergen-C in super orange. I love this stuff. Especially because I need to drink plenty of water when I practice Bikram. It tastes really really good and is great for you. I usually fill up my nalgene and pour one of these in once or twice a day.

wknd croquet match

This past weekend was the 27th Annual Annapolis Cup, a croquet match between St. John's College and the Naval Academy. So. Much. Fun.

The best part about the croquet match isn’t watching the game- but rather people watching. Everyone dresses up (think Great Gatsby style), drinks, and socializes. A great Annapolis event and I’m so happy I finally got to attend one.

I mean really he's just so cute.

Katie and I made ‘blackout sangria’ which sounds bad but really is tasty and not too potent. We added: peach schnapps, merlot, ginger ale & fruit soaked in vodka.

**excuse the classy "I have a drinking problem" purple teeth. the straw doesn't do any good if I just swirl the sangria in my mouth**

be honesttttt...

From cutie patootie over @ Pink Champagne...

1. I cry at everything. I’ve posted this before, but really it’s so true. I’m the only person I know of that cried during Notorious (just love biggie!).

2. I enjoy non-fiction books volumes more than I enjoy fiction.

3. If D hadn’t stolen my TV from my bedroom I’d have Fox News playing 24/7.

4. I never thought I’d get married before I turned 30. Just didn’t think it was in the cards for me. On that note, it really irks me when people have the nerve to tell me I’m getting married too young. When people say that when you know, you know- they’re right. I know I’d be a fool to let Dan get away.

5. I hate talking on the phone. I’d much rather text than chat on the phone. Especially if it’s about absolutely nothing.

6. I hated Twilight. Like wanted to burn it. But I have this weird thing about finishing books that I start- but it was torture.

7. I also dislike red roses. I think they’re cheesy.

8. I have twin brothers that are 6’6 and 6’7 with size 18 feet. I thank my lucky stars I didn’t inherit those genes.

9. I love the rain. I find it soothing and comforting.

10. I’m really nervous about my wedding. Nervous that I’m missing something, not planning something correctly, etc. In the end I just pray it happens how I’ve pictured it.

HAPPY TAX DAY :)

bachelorette recap!

My weekend bridal shower/bachelorette party in Denver was AMAZING. Definitely a weekend to remember. I had the best weekend with my friends- words cant even describe how thoughtful and wonderful they all are.

A few pictures from the weekend:

My maid of honor had this made- how beautiful! The best part- I wanted a cupcake cake at one time, so she said since I went with a traditional wedding cake she made this a cupcake cake sou I could have both :)

panties! this was the cutest gift- my big sis from my sorority gave me like 8 pairs of panties that all came with a little poem. I'll have to post it because it was the most adorable thing ever.

All the lovely ladies :)

the end of a successful night re-living my college years. I'm still paying for it. Its tuesday.

It was a tame bachelorette by all means- but thats exactly what I was going for. I'm not into all the male strippers/raunchy party favors/etc.

reception schedule

The reception schedule makes me slightly nervous.
which is likely due to the fact I've never a) really paid attention to the schedule of events during a wedding and b) have never had to schedule my own!
Our reception is from 7:45-11 at our ceremony venue. I've browsed a few website and this is what I've come up with:

5:00 Boys pictures @ DV
5:30 H Family Pictures @ DV
5:45 Girls Bridal Party pictures @ DV
6:15 C Family Pictures @ Delaney
6:15 Busses arrive @ Holiday Inn, go to Embassy Suites and drop off at DV
6:30 Prelude music begins
6:30 Guests start to arrive
6:45 Bridal Party lines up for processional
6:55 Special guest are seated
7:00 Processional Starts
7:10 Bride walks down
7:15 Ceremony Begins
7:45 Cocktail hour begins/Group Bridal party photos
8:10 Bridal Party introduction
8:15 Arch of Sabers/Bride & Groom introduction
8:25 First Dance
8:35 Father/Daughter Dance
8:45 Mother/Son Dance
9:00 Best Man Toast
9:10 Maid of Honor Toast
9:15 Chi Omega Shades
9:30 Cake Cutting
9:45 Bouquet toss & Garter removal
10:00 Groom and Bride speech
10:30 Busses begin running from DL to Embassy Suites & Holiday Inn
10:30 Sparkler exit, bride and groom exit
11:00 End of the reception
During the planning process I haven't given this much thought, but it dawned on me the other day just how awful events turn out if they're not properly planned. Any of you other brides have your schedule together? Anything you see I'm missing/screwing up?

top 2 & how to make it in america

Top Two Tuesday!

Top Magazines:

InStyle- Just an all time favorite. Everything about it :)
Women’s Health- I'm honestly not even sure why I love WH so much, but to me its better than any other womens fitness magazine out there.

Well now that my treasured show Big Love is over for the season, it was only a matter of time that I become obsessed with another one! If you ladies haven’t seen How to Make it in America you need to!

I watched the entire season (almost) on Saturday and the season finale Sunday. It is SO GOOD! It is from the producers of Entourage (another one of my favorites) and is about 2 twenty-something guys in New York City trying to launch their own business because they’re broke broke broke. If you like Entourage you’ll definitely this!

iced tea, crepes & easter sunday

Weekend recap!

This weekend was SO nice and relaxing.

Katie’s race was Saturday and she did great! We were there bright and early- a little spooky to see Washington DC so empty. I fulfilled my dream of seeing the Cherry Blossom trees :) They really are beautiful!

Sunday Dan and I went on a RUN together. Yeah I know right. Well let’s be honest not a true run. More like a mix of fast walking and jogging for a mile and a half. BUT it’s a start right? After that we stopped by Starbucks for a Passion Fruit Iced Tea (SO GOOD) and for crepes at a small crepe shop here- it had nutella and peanut butter in it and it was TDF. Then, church and relaxing for the rest of the day.

In wedding news, I finally sent out our invitations about a week and a half ago and we’re receiving RSVP’s daily now :) Very exciting! Yesterday was our 2 month mark! I know everybody says this but time really does fly. I feel like it was just yesterday we got engaged and I settled into our 15 month engagement. Now I’m receiving RSVPs from guests and finalizing plans. Cra-Zee.

Also, I leave Friday for my weekend in Denver- my bridal shower and bachelorette with my besties! I've been looking forward to this weekend for a long time and I'm so excited its almost here :)

monogram love

Probably my favorite thing out of all of our wedding stationary:

Our monogram.

I told Anita I wanted something really classic and she designed just that :)

Happy weekend to me!

Up this weekend: Katie's family is coming to visit and she is running a 10K in D.C. on Saturday! I hope to get a glimpse of the cherry blossoms while we're there. I'm going to {attempt} to go to yoga tonight, a double tomorrow, once on saturday and then another double on Sunday. Honestly I'll be shocked if I make it to all of those classes!
